Solvent extraction method to produce Palm Kernel Deoiled Meal (PKM). This process uses minimum heat treatment, thus the quality of nutrients in Palm Kernel Deoiled Meal is preserved. This process also flakes the kernel to less than 0.3mm to extract the oil, thus breaking down the shell particles. There are no more shell pieces with sharp edges left in the product.

 Usage of Palm Kernel Deoiled Meal (PKM) in animal feed

1) Beef Cattle - in feedlot system, usage of up to 100% (in pellet form) gives ADG

of 0.5-1.0kg/day, with feeding of 5% body weight.

2) Dairy Cattle - PKM can be used up to 50% together with forages.

3) Swine - PKM can be used up to 30%, especially in grower/finisher stage.

4) Poultry - Due to lower fiber and shell content, PKM can be used at higher percentage

in poultry.

a) Broiler -inclusion of up to10% without effect on performance.

b) Layer -inclusion of up to 20% without effect on performance.
